Winter 2016
Crackling log fires, warm cosy blankets, hot chocolate and warm apple cider on a cold crisp evening. These are typical heart-warming images that we get when we think of Christmas and the Holiday Season. Each family creates their own traditions and memories and we love the nostalgia that we get to re-experience every year.
The sights, sounds and smells of Christmastime trigger those pleasant memories that we grew up with which are deeply embedded into our limbic system. But let’s not forget that sometimes the season can also be stressful. Gift shopping in over-crowded malls, cooking a large family meal, the kid’s brand new toys not working on Christmas morning.
In this article, I will suggest essential oils that are perfect for the Holiday Season. Oils that will create those amazing sensations, calm thoughts and feelings that speak of Christmas. I have also give recipes for some amazing diffuser blends for you to try at home.
Diffusing the essential oils in a COOL MIST DIFFUSER is my recommended method for application during the holiday season for the following reasons:
The aroma will spread quickly throughout your home, thus creating an holiday ambience.
The essential oils will also help to purify the air and eliminate odours - perfect for when you have visitors.
Some of the oils, such as cinnamon, clove and ginger are “hot” oils so applying them to your skin may cause sensitivity. Therefore by using them in a diffuser you will not have to apply them onto or near your skin.
You will receive still receive the wellness benefits from the essential oils.
Diffusing is safe for using the oils around children and pets.
